Whether challenges are related to stress, depression, anxiety, addiction, relationship problems or identity issues, I approach my work with others with compassion, empathy and understanding. I base my working style on the assumption that these virtues are more likely to make my patients' lives more manageable. And that at any point in time, everyone is trying their best.
Trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy that takes a life-course developmental view of human growth, I also introduce cognitive-behavioural, behavioural and humanistic principles into my therapeutic approach. In therapy, this means that we will explore your past and present, looking at what has motivated you to take action or what has stimulated your thoughts and feelings—all of which have brought you to the present time. Other times, it may mean that therapy will focus on developing new ways to cope. I provide an accepting environment for patients from all walks of life to explore their inner and outer worlds without the fear of judgment.
After completing a BA in Psychology from McGill University in Montréal, QC, I went on to earn an MA in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. I have worked at a number of community mental health centers, hospitals and private practices in Canada and the United States since 2000. I welcome new clients and look forward to creating collaborative relationships to help improve your sense of well-being.
