I can offer suggestions for you to implement in your day-to-day life, where the real work of change happens. Our time together will carry you between sessions and enable you to make the changes you are finding difficult to make on your own. Interventions I typically use are based on principles from:

By getting to know yourself better in therapy—learning more about what makes you tick and what moves you forward—you can begin to appreciate those parts of yourself that can sometimes make you cringe. Those parts of you that you never want to see the light of day are not only welcome in my office, but a necessary and valuable part of the process of you growing to accept yourself for who you really are.
Some people come looking for worksheets or lots of homework so they can figure out the steps to assuring that they feel better. Life is wonderfully complicated, but can also be wonderful when we have a framework—rather than step-by-step instructions—to understanding ourselves. When we have a more fleshed out understanding, we are more able to be resilient and handle all that life throws at us.
Couples Therapy
My approach to working with couples is that the three of us should always be in the room together, sharing all the same information. I don’t keep secrets from partners but will support you to deliver difficult messages, as you need to.
Individual Therapy
I approach emotional problems with the idea that our past informs our present, and that even maladaptive coping is an honest attempt at trying to solve a problem we are facing. The key is in the non-judgmental understanding of ourselves.
